I present to you: the very first post in this brand-new category: Artist Of The Month.
At the end of each month, I’ll spotlight one artist I genuinely enjoy listening to: usually someone still on the rise, still building their space, and deserving of a few more eyes (and ears).
We’re starting off strong with the month of January (yes, I know it’s the end of February already, but this blog didn’t exist until a few weeks ago, so we’re catching up together). So without further ado:
The Artist Of The Month for January 2026 is Charlotte Clarke.
If you’re looking for new rising artists in pop and country storytelling, Charlotte Clarke is someone you need on your radar.
Who is Charlotte Clarke?
Charlotte Clarke is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter originally from Southampton who moved to London at just 19 years old. But her relationship with music started way before that. Charlotte started singing at just 8 years old and has treated it as her own form of therapy ever since. Music was her tool to feel seen and understood.
Aesthetically and emotionally, Charlotte presents herself as vibrant, fearless, and unapologetic. Her signature look includes baby blue and Ferrari red, and with touches of vintage and nostalgia, her look mirrors her music perfectly.
If you’re looking for a space where women can be loud, angry, emotional, and complicated without the need to apologise, then Charlotte Clarke is your girl!
What She Writes About
Charlotte Clarke writes primarily from her own experience, and it shows. Her lyrics are direct, honest, and emotionally grounded. Some of her recurring themes are losing and regaining power, ownership of identity and body, betrayal, hard emotional truths, and life lessons learned the hard way.
While she has only written about what she has lived through so far, she stated she would also be open to stepping into other characters’ shoes and writing songs from their perspectives.
Her fans (the CHARmers) really connect with her honesty. Her music becomes a space to feel, process, and figure things out.
Music & Milestones
Charlotte’s sound ranges from floaty and angelic to cinematic and emotionally intense. This reflects both her vocal tone as well as the production work she’s developed alongside Swedish producer Carl Engstedt, who has shaped her entire catalogue so far.
Charlotte Clarke released her debut single, “yet, I still miss you”, in January 2024, followed by another single, “Fixation,” both of which became part of her EP Growing Pains, which was released later that year.
Since then, her catalogue has expanded with:
- IT’S NOT MY FAULT
- MAGNETIC
- Bound To You
Most recently, she released the single “I Prefer Karma”, which gained traction on TikTok first and then surpassed 100k streams in its first week. By now, Charlotte Clarke has reached the milestone of more than 40k monthly listeners on Spotify.
“I Prefer Karma” dives into themes like power imbalance, manipulation, and being silenced, calling out the kinds of situations where harmful behavior gets protected instead of challenged – something she doesn’t shy away from addressing directly.
Alongside constant streaming growth, Charlotte has already opened shows for various upcoming UK artists and even sold out her first headline show with TALENTBANQ, the London-based live music agency representing independent artists.
She has also hinted at touring and merch plans and teased upcoming music, including her two-part album project: Take It From Me, part 1 and part 2.
Why She Is Worth Watching Out For
Charlotte Clarke sits in that exciting space where artistry feels both intentional and authentic. Her emotional honesty and modern blend of country and pop storytelling make her feel less like a distant internet personality and more like a friend singing directly to you.
It’s still early in her journey, which makes now the perfect time to listen, explore, and grow alongside her and her music.
If you’re looking for someone new to add to your playlists, I genuinely recommend giving her a listen. And if you end up connecting with her work: welcome to the club!
If you’re someone who falls a little too deeply for stories, characters, and the worlds they live in: welcome! Join the community and let’s experience it all together.🤍 You can explore more music discoveries in my Music category or read about other topics on my general blog site.
